Every massage is tailored for the clients needs.

What that means is that you may get several different modalities mixed into your massage to get the massage that meets what is going on with your body physically.  For example, if you are having low back pain, you will most likely get some sports massage to assist you with your low back pain, a massage that will address stretching the iliopsoas muscle, which is done through the stomach, even though that is a back muscle, because over 80% of low back pain is associated with that muscle being overly tight from being overstretched or shortened.

Tuning Fork Sound Therapy:  Like adjusting a piano, your body can be tuned to achieve optimal physical balance. Tapping two tuning forks will instantaneously alter your body’s biochemistry and bring your nervous system, muscle tone and organs into harmonic balance. In seconds ... your body enters a deep state of relaxation. Feeling centered, your mind will be at peace...

Why are so many people using our Tuning Forks?

  • Provides instantaneous, deep state of relaxation

  • Improves mental clarity and brain functioning

  • Increases your level of physical energy and mental concentration

  • Relieves stress by drawing your body into a centered space

  • Develops and refines your sonic abilities

  • Enhances massage, acupressure, dreamwork and meditation

  • Brings your nervous system into balance

  • Integrates left and right brain thought patterns

I have found that the tuning forks will relieve numbness and tingling.  The vibration of the forks will go through bone which my hands can not do, and reduce inflammation, promoting healing in the muscles and in the nerves.

Deep Tissue Massage:  Deep tissue massage, first of all, is NOT about pressure!  There are therapists running around telling people that deep tissue massage is going in as far as y ou can as hard as you can.  That is incorrect.  Deep tissue massage is about getting the tissue to change and sinking into the tissue. I calll it melting butter as that is what the tissue feels like in my hands as the tissue changes.  Often, I will stop moving or be barely moving, sometimes I lighten my pressure so I can stay on the area that needs to change. Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles and the fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles).

Swedish Massage:  Swedish massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage. It is the best known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Hot Stone Massage  You can chose this option as an add on to your massage for an extra $15 or you may chose it as  your hour massage session for $70.  I do not do this massage where the stones are laid on the body NOT moving because of safety for my clients.  The stones will be moving on you unless they've cooled somed after I've massaged with a stone.  Then, and only then, would a cooled stone be laid on the client static.  So, please realize this isn't going to be the typical hot stone massage you've might have had done somewhere else.

Cupping Therapy:  This is the newest therapy that I'm doing.  I've been doing it for a while but it's taken me some time to get it up on my website.  I took this on for myself because of some things I've been going through physically.  And, because I can't find a therapist that does what I do to get rid of numbness and tingling in my arms and hands.  Just so you know the tuning forks and my hands were still my best help in getting rid of that, not these.  But, when my hands were in too much pain to work on myself, these came in handy.

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People have this done for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep tissue massage.  I use cups with a pump that pulls the air out of the cup to create the suction.  The picture above is a client of mine that I was helping with some sciatic numbness and tingling.  The best explanation I've heard was from Dr. Axe saying that cupping pulls to old blood to the surface allowing new blood, which is where the healing is, to come into that area.  I also massage with the cups to get a deep pull on the tissue with the adhesion(s) to help them go away.

This therapy will require you to sign a release because of side effects of cupping and because of some contraindications against using the cups in order for this to be done during a therapy session with me.  I will tell you now that if you are on blood thinners, I cnanot do this type of work with you.  I do have other things that I can do that are effective.  At this time, I'm not charging extra for this.therapy.

Reflexology:  Reflexology is an alternative medicine involving application of pressure to the hands, feet, and the ears.  It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the hands, feet, and ears, with the effects of a physical change to the body.  Most clients get some reflexology treatment during the session if time allows as I can work the entire body more deeply through the feet than if I massage the entire body.

Craniosaral Therapy:  Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, noninvasive form of bodywork that addresses the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum. The goal is to release compression in those areas which alleviates stress and pain.

Cranial sacral therapy seeks to restore the natural position of the bones and can decrease  stress from chronic injuries as well as provide relief from migraine headaches, neck and back pain, temporomandibular joint disorder (the inflammation of the joint that connects the lower jaw to the skull) and more.

I learned this modality because I have a nephew that is autistic.  Craniosacral work has been known to help those that have autisism relax and to feel as though they are no longer trapped in their body.  It is a way of putting your body through a healing process.

Sports Massage:  Sports massage will focus on an area of the body that is overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements.  I will often use this technique just from the repetitive motion that people do in their everyday jobs.  One does not have to have aggressive movement to need sports massage.  It is a massage that is not as relaxing as a swedish massage.  If I feel that a client is going to need some type of sports massage during the session, I try to do this type of massage at the beginning of the session so that the client can relax during the rest of the session.
